The client
Krista Ltd is a Bulgarian animal feed producer. Its feed mill runs on Imperium4Feed, the feed and grain edition of Imperium 4, a browser-based process control and operations management platform by Optio Systems (formed from the merger of DSL and Datastor). Sales, inventory and finance, however, lived in separate tools and spreadsheets.
About Imperium 4
Imperium 4 controls the production process directly: it talks to the PLCs on the plant floor, plans and schedules production, tracks maintenance and warehousing and reports OEE and other KPIs in real time. Imperium4Feed is its edition for feed and grain plants: dosing and mixing by recipe, batch traceability and plant automation. Being a process control system, it is not designed to run sales, purchasing or accounting, which is where Odoo comes in.
The challenge
Bring sales, purchasing, inventory and accounting into one ERP without replacing the production platform the technologists had used for years. Orders, feed recipes and raw materials had to flow from Odoo to Imperium4Feed, and produced batches and consumed raw materials had to come back, without manual re-entry on either side.
The solution
Global One implemented Odoo for sales, purchasing, inventory and accounting with the Bulgarian localisation and built a two-way integration with Imperium 4 through its API: confirmed orders and feed recipes are pushed to the mill, while batch reports, produced quantities and consumed raw materials flow back into Odoo and update stock and costs. During the project Datastor became part of Optio Systems and the product continued as Imperium 4; the integration was kept compatible and runs against the current version.
The result
One system for sales, stock and finance, real-time stock levels and a production team that keeps working in the tool it knows. Manual data transfer between departments is gone, and management sees commercial and production data in one place.
